The WTA Future Stars is an engagement platform aimed at encouraging young boys and girls throughout Asia-Pacific to live a better life through sport. Through tennis, the goal is to inculcate in the next generation the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, teamwork, discipline and focus which will build strength in character that will benefit them both on the tennis court and in life.
As part of the program, the WTA Future Stars Tournament gathers some of the top juniors from the region to compete during the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, with the final being played on Center Court. These aspiring U-14 and U-16 players will compete against some of their best peers in the region and also enjoy the opportunity to watch the biggest stars of the WTA in action.
The WTA Future Stars also features a grassroots development initiative to introduce the sport to less privileged communities throughout Asia-Pacific. WTA Future Stars Clinics have been conducted in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand and the outreach continues to grow.
